MEET THE Team
Jeff Bartholomew
Founder
Is the founder and President of Royal Links Golf Tours. Jeff has been planning trips to the British Isles since 1996 and has personally travelled there to play golf more than 30-times. He has played 190 rounds of golf over there on more than 88 links courses and his claim to fame is that he has played all 14 courses that have ever hosted the Open Championship
He was smitten with links golf the moment he set foot on the links at Prestwick when he took his father to Scotland for his 60th birthday. Together they played 10 unforgettable rounds on 10 absolutely stunning links and built a mutual passion for the links. Golf travel to the British Isles has become his obsession and he knowingly believes that the experiences off the course with his friends have often been the best parts of his travels. Ask him about the Military Tattoo, the Edradour distillery, the Isle of Skye, Durness, the Three Chimneys, an Olympic soccer game, Slain’s Castle, eating Haggis and meeting Old Tom Morris.
Jeff loves to travel to Scotland with Tina and he is a member of the Moray Golf Club there. Jeff has 3 adult children and he lives in Atlanta where he pines daily for his next trip to the links.

Hayden Moore
Founder
Is a co-founder and Partner at Royal Links Golf Tours, he serves as our lead Trip Advisor and is a frequent traveller to the British Isles. His favorite style of golf to play is links golf and he is a serious student of golf in the British Isles. Hayden passionately and pragmatically builds golf trips with amazing experiences both on, and off the course. He understands that the best golf trips aren’t all golf. Rather, the best golf trips are the ones that allow the traveler to experience the local culture, flavor and hospitality. Hayden’s aim is to make every trip a worry-free, world-class experience.
Hayden is one of those fortunate kids who grew up with a golf club in his hands. He played golf regularly with his dad at a course owned by his uncle outside of Birmingham, AL. Over the years, Hayden has whittled his USGA index down to a very handy 4. He takes great pride in beating his father-in-law and has no reservation in taking large sums of money out of his wallet. Like Jeff, Hayden is a member of the Moray Golf Club.
Hayden is a former quarterback at the University of Cincinnati. Hayden is married to the former Amanda Bartholomew and they reside in Atlanta with their dog Bella, and cat Rosie.
Alan Mcpherson
Ambassador
Alan is Royal Links Golf Tours’ Ambassador in Scotland and the smiling face our clients typically see after an arduous overnight journey. He takes great pride in welcoming our guests to Scotland and making sure every trip gets off to the right start.
A passionate golfer and member of Dunbar Golf Club, Alan is an incredible resource for both our team and our guests. While Scottish Golf recognizes just under 600 golf courses in Scotland, Alan has somehow managed to play 674 courses—all in support of a cancer charity. His knowledge of Scottish golf is truly remarkable.
Alan spent 15 years as a caddie at courses throughout East Lothian, where he had the opportunity to caddie for Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald, as well as his good friend and acclaimed author Tom Coyne.
Originally from Glasgow, Alan and his wife, Polly, have called the East Lothian coastal town of North Berwick home since 1990.

Among her favorite places in Scotland are Leakey’s Bookshop in Inverness, known for its wonderful selection of books and prints; The Islander Shop in Edinburgh, where she enjoys browsing Harris Tweed purses; and Little Italy in St Andrews, one of her favorite restaurants.
